Sometimes the spec work we do in the world of advertising doesn't sell, but we still like what we came up with. A lot of times when putting a comp together the designer is given very little in the way of concrete assets to use when creating the ad. Time is also usually of the essence when designing comps. It's almost more of a exercise in composing with shape and color—a true base layer of design—than creating a finished piece. These are some of the comps I have been charged with creating.
